Welcome! My name is Tara and I live in Port Dover, Ontario with my fiance, Max, and forever fickle feline, Trixie. I’m a dental assistant by day but please don’t hold this against me.
I grew up in a family who cultivated a true adoration for food from a young age. From my one hundred percent Scottish Canadian grandmother who cooked a mean risotto, my father’s passion for our Northern Italian heritage, to my mother’s love of Martha Stewart and anything new, I was always immersed in a love for food, recipes, and sharing them both. Over the years I’ve learned to meld my passion and love for cooking with my nine to five work life. I often hear from friends how they wish they had time to cook but life commitments keep them in a rut. What saddens me most is when someone tells me they hate cooking dinner. As cliche as it sounds, I believe the kitchen is the heart of a home, and time spent there should be enjoyed and cherished even if it’s making a twenty minute meal between school and hockey practice. My blog is a place to share my love while hopefully easing the burden of the daily dinner dilemma.
I love dark chocolate, cheese of all kinds, and anything with basil and garlic. When I’m not working or blogging I enjoy coffee dates with my best friend, exploring Norfolk – the county I am proud to call home since 2014, taking pictures of my cat, reading – especially Canadian fiction, working out, and snowmobiling with my love.
